This image of a sculptor at work in Philippe Guenat's atelier in the Geneva suburb of Carouge was fun to take. Carouge is an old suburb of Geneva and home to many artisans, artists and eclectic shops.

CHATEAU D'AIGLE

Chateau d'Aigle at the mouth of the Rhone Valley is one of Switzerland's finest medieval castles.  Originally built in the 12th Century for the Barons of Aigle, the present castle dates from 1484 and has been owned by the Community of Aigle since 1804.  The castle was converted from a prison to a museum in 1976.

Lake Brienz, just north of the alps in central Switzerland, has many tourists but is still surrounded by idyllic Swiss dairy farms each keeping a small herd of cows in barns as they have done for centuries.  This farm appeared to have a herd of about eight cows and was located on the shore of the lake.   Autumn was still in evidence.
