Appenzell in North-East Switzerland is considered by many Swiss as the heartland of the Swiss farm. This is a close up of a shingled house in the village of Appenzell.

The image was taken with a tripod-mounted Phase One 645 Camera at ISO 35. Exposure of F14 and aperture F16 with an exposure of 1/3 second. 80 mm Schneider Keusnach lens with leaf shutter. The image was captured on a Phase One IQ180 80 megapixel digital back. Shadow areas have been opened using Capture One.
