The Roman Forum, also known by its Latin name Forum Romanum, is a rectangular forum (plaza) surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings at the center of the city of Rome. Citizens of the ancient city referred to this space, originally a marketplace, as the Forum Magnum, or simply the Forum. Many of the oldest and most important structures of the ancient city were located on or near the Forum.

The image was taken with a hand-held Phase One 645XF Camera at ISO 100. Exposure of 1/320th of a second and an aperture of f8. Schneider Kreuznach 45 mm lens with leaf shutter. The image was captured on a Phase One IQ3 100 megapixel digital back.
