The Kruger National Park covers nearly 2 million hectares and is unrivalled in South Africa in terms of its size and the diversity of its life forms.  The park is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians - 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals.  

TECHNICAL NOTES

The image was taken with a hand-held Phase One 645 Camera at ISO 100. Exposure of 1/500th of a second and aperture F8.   300 mm Mamiya lens with focal plane shutter.   The image was captured on a Phase One IQ180 80 megapixel digital back.
