MONET'S GARDEN

GIVERNY, FRANCE

Image Number 242

Claude Monet’s house and garden at Giverny outside Paris have been preserved with significant help from American benefactors.  The garden and the famous lilly pond from Monet’s water lilly series still exist much as Monet left them.  This beautiful image looks across the lilly pond towards a boatman raking weeds from the pond.   Monet’s house may be seen in the background.
