NEUCHATEL SWITZERLAND

Image Number 10

Neuchatel is a small French speaking Swiss canton across the lake from Berne.  The 33,000 citizens of the capital pride themselves on their independence, finally achieved in 1848 after successive French and Prussian administrations. The old town is virtually intact, with a town square that looks like it has been lifted from a chocolate box.
